For those wishing to enter the GFX ecosystem with a single all-round zoom, the GF32-64mm f/4 R LM WR ticks a lot of boxes. Its construction inspires confidence, its sharpness is excellent and its autofocus is surprisingly fast.
The GFX100S II is positioned as a best-seller capable of redefining Fujifilm's medium-format range and shaking up the habits of photographers looking for a high-end experience. Competitors have only themselves to blame.
If you don't need F1.4 specifically I would suggest you save a few dollars and benefit from the latest improvements Fujifilm implemented in this great piece of glass.
Articles rarely fall short of superlatives when a Fujifilm lens shows its filter thread. For several months the Fujifilm XF 90mm F2 R LM WR came with its share of speculation and rumors. "Wait and you'll see" is typically the background noise which spread on the internet.
Photographers allergic to zooms will rush on this new XF 16mm R WR with no hesitation. As far as I'm concerned, reason still prevails (for now) and I will continue to use the XF 16-55mm f/2.8 WR zoom as my main kit lens (until I can afford the 16mm).
The Sigma BF is not trying to be the best camera for everyone. It is attempting to become an especially desirable camera for certain photographers. Those who want a universal machine will quite rightly criticise its omissions. Those who appreciate distinctive objects, deliberate simplicity and the physical pleasure of making photographs may, by contrast, be willing to forgive it a great deal.
